The law firm that defends former midfielder Jadson in actions against the Corinthians due to old debts, he refuted, this Tuesday, the version of President Duilio Monteiro Alves and Timão’s lawyer about the payment of debts.
During a hearing with journalists last Friday, the Corinthians president stated that the club transferred around 60% of the total amount owed to the former player. However, Jadson’s defense claims that not even 15% of the debt was received by him.
The former midfielder, who played for Corinthians between 2014 and 2015 and from 2017 to 2019, is filing two lawsuits against Timão: one for debts relating to image rights and the other for non-payment of wages and severance pay. In total, the value is around R$11 million.

In the statement sent, Jadson’s lawyers declare that the debt related to the image was extinguished after the former athlete received full credit through the seizure of Alvinegro’s prizes in the 2022 Copa do Brasil, in which he was runner-up.
The office, however, states that “there was never any spontaneous payment by Corinthians” and guarantees that the debt related to this action does not represent 15% of the total amount owed to the former player.
The action relating to salaries and severance pay, which, according to Jadson’s lawyers, represents around 85% of the total debt, is “awaiting the judgment of the clarifications presented by Corinthians in light of the sentence”.
If convicted at the CBF National Dispute Resolution Chamber (CNRD), where this second action is being processed, Timão will have a deadline to pay the remainder due or will be prevented from registering new players.
Jadson’s defense reinforces that in this action, to date, there has also been no voluntary payment by the club.
In contact with the report Sports Gazette, Corinthians questions the numbers released in the note, maintains Duilio’s position and promises to comment on the case soon. Furthermore, he declares that he has a meeting scheduled for the 17th to discuss the surplus to be paid to the former player.
