Turin (Italy) – Home star at the Turin ATP Finals, Italian Jannik Sinner will be responsible for opening the competition on Sunday, facing Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the daytime round of the competition, no earlier than 10:30 am (Brasília time).
Despite having the better of the most recent duel, at this year’s ATP 500 in Rotterdam, Sinner has a negative record against Tsitsipas, with just two wins and five losses. The Italian has in his favor the great end to the season he had, with titles in Beijing and Vienna and runner-up in Shanghai.
World number 1 and the tournament’s biggest winner alongside Switzerland’s Roger Federer, both with six wins, Serbian Novak Djokovic will be the main star of the first night round. Not before 5pm (Brasília time), he will face the Danish Holger Rune.
Rune is the most difficult rival for Djokovic among the members of the Green Group. The Serb won twice, the last time last week in Paris, but lost the other two, one of them also this year, in the quarterfinals of the Masters 1000 in Rome.
After the Green Group games opened the competition on Sunday, on Monday it will be the Red Group’s turn to start the campaign. Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz will face German Alexander Zverev in the day round and Russians Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev will face each other in the night round.
