Tite’s wife starts watching Flamengo games in Rio; meet Rosmari Bachi

After leaving command of the Brazilian Team and stay away from football for ten months, Tite returned to work in October, taking on the position of coach of the Flamengo. Despite having promised his family that he would only return to the world of football in 2024, he changed his mind when he received the proposal from the Rio team, but that doesn’t mean he leaves his family aside. His wife, Rosmari Rizzi Bachi, also known as Rose, accompanied the red-black team for the first time at Maracanã this Wednesday, in Flamengo’s 3-0 victory over Palmeiras. She is with him in Rio and starts to join the red-blacks.

Tite and Rosmari, also known as Rose, met when he played as a midfielder for Caxias-RS. They married on November 30, 1984 and, at the end of November, they celebrated 39 years of marriage. The couple are parents of Gabriele Rizzi Bachi28-year-old sociologist, and Matheus Rizzi Bachi, 34, Tite’s assistant at Flamengo. The couple has two grandchildren.

“He is everything to me. It’s my safe haven”, she said when Tite was still in charge of Corinthians, well before leading Brazil in two World Cups. She’s the type to wear the shirt of the club that hires her husband. Tite, whenever he can, mentions his wife. The couple recognized each other by their looks. “I worked at my father’s restaurant and I always saw Tite leaving his sister to work at a company nearby. All I know is that a beautiful boy came down there and kept looking at me. I looked too, of course. But we stayed like that for a year, until one day he appeared there, took my arm and said: “I need to talk like you, little girl”, he told years ago to GE.

After this first step, Tite had to face the girl’s parents. “The idea my parents had was that football players only drank and were womanizers. It took a while for them to realize that Tite was an honest, good guy. But as my father saw the Caxias and Juventude players drinking in the restaurant, he worried about where his daughter was going to get herself.” And that’s how it all began. Her children came and now she also takes care of her grandchildren.

Tite and Rose have lived in Rio since the coach took over the Brazilian team in 2016. The couple fell in love with the city and continued to live in the capital of Rio even after he handed over the role as Brazil coach. The possibility of maintaining residence in Rio weighed on Tite’s choice to accept Flamengo’s proposal, even though his plan was to train a European team in the 2023/24 season. He was approached by Corinthians and Botafogo before accepting the invitation to succeed Jorge Sampaoli in charge of Flamengo.

Rose is Tite’s long-time football companion. She traveled with her coach and children to Japan in 2012, when the Corinthians won the Club World Cup that year by defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the final. The family stayed in the same hotel as the São Paulo team. The coach made regular visits to the family’s room during training. Rose was also present at the World Cup in Qatar and was caught getting a kiss from the team’s then commander in the stands after the 4-1 victory over South Korea, in the round of 16.

Flamengo’s victory over Palmeiras put the red and black team back in contention for the Brazilian Championship title. The team is in fifth place, with 56 points, three behind leader Botafogo, which has one game less and is still playing in the round — Flamengo has one game less. Tite’s men return to the field on Saturday, when they play a classic against Fluminense, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, for the 34th round of the competition.
