The first half saw good movement from both teams and in the 21st minute, a cross from Robson towards Slimani fell to midfielder Bruno Gomes, who filled the net and opened the scoring for Alviverde. At 34, in a good counterattack, Slimani made the pass and Marcelino Moreno expanded.
In the second half, América-MG was more offensive, but Coxa continued to have the upper hand. The team’s top scorer of the season, Robson, scored the third in the 23rd minute. The Rabbit even tried to react, but had difficulty. With five rounds to go before the end of the championship, the team from Minas Gerais has already said goodbye to Série A.
