Didn’t like the ‘reserve stadium’
It is not today that Abel Ferreira makes clear his preference for hosting Palmeiras games at Allianz Parque. But in the press conference after the duel against Athletico Paranaense, the coach highlighted even more his discomfort with Arena Barueri.
“We have a series of difficult games ahead of us. We have to come and play here, next we play away, then we have to come and play here again. We are not just playing against our opponents, but leaving our home…”, he stated.
“I thank the 17 thousand who were here. But in our house we ‘put’ 40 (thousand), 42 (thousand)… The noise doesn’t go away, it’s all there inside the ‘sty’”, pointed out the Palmeiras coach about the situation.
Abel also highlighted that, regardless of the stage of the confrontation, Palmeiras’ commitment will be total. However, the massive presence of the Alviverde fans makes a big difference in the result.
At Allianz, Palmeiras is stronger
“Wherever we are, whoever we are against, whoever we play, we play to win. But I would like to see the field full, with our fans helping, as they always have”, highlighted the Portuguese coach.
“With all due respect, this is not the pigsty I feel comfortable in, nor do I feel comfortable on the benches. It’s not my house. It gets a little more difficult here, but it is what it is. Let’s continue”, concluded the Palmeiras commander.
