After Fluminense won the Libertadores, last Saturday, the boy Gui, Vasco native and favorite of Vasco fans, appeared in a video on social media singing the Tricolor anthem to congratulate his rival on the title. This attitude, however, did not please some fans of the Cruz-Maltino club, who criticized the 8-year-old boy.
Several fans didn’t like the fact that the Vasco boy was singing the Fluminense anthem and commented on the social media post. Despite some criticism, other people expressed support for Gui.
After the criticism received by Gui on social media, Tayane Granda, mother of the little Vasco fan, clarified that the boy wanted to honor his grandfather and great-grandfather, who are tricolor, said that he knows how to sing the anthem of all the clubs and asked for more love.
“Gui is from Vasco, he loves his team and everyone can see that in his daily life. My father and my grandfather, Gui’s respective grandfather and great-grandfather, are tricolores and Gui made the video in honor of them. Gui can sing ALL the anthems from ALL the clubs he knows, and what’s the problem with that? He’s a child and he loves the sport”, wrote Tayane.
Vasco fan, Guilherme went viral on the web after waking up from a coma and hugging his mother, Tayane Gandra, after 16 days of hospitalization in the semi-intensive unit of a hospital in the West Zone of Rio. The boy had epidermolysis bullosa — an autoimmune genetic condition and rare that causes serious skin injuries.
