Team Brazil continues to shine at the Pan American Games, in Santiago, Chile, and once again occupied the most noble place on the podium. This time, Stephan Barcha won the gold medal, after a great performance in equestrian.
After the historic result, Pedro Paulo, head of the Brazilian equestrian team, stated that the focus is already being turned to the Paris Olympics in 2024.

Rhythmic gymnastics gave Team Brazil four victories. In the archery category, Maria Eduarda, just 16 years old, took the highest place on the podium, after achieving a score of 32.700. Another Brazilian, Barbara Domingos came in second place. However, Babi didn’t stop there. In addition to the silver medal with the arch, she also secured gold in the ball category.
Geovanna Santos closed the list and won the fourth medal in the sport, taking the silver medal, also in the ball category.
Canoeing yielded yet another silver medal for Brazil, this Friday (3), at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. It was with Evandilson Avelar and Filipe Vieira in the C2 500m, with a time of 1min43s52, surpassed only by Canadians Alix Plomteux and John Craig Spence (1min42s12). Bronze went to Cubans Javier Requeiro and José Ramón Córdova (1min43s66).
In archery, Ana Machado defeated Mexican Angela Ruiz 6-4 and secured a place in Sunday’s semifinal, against American Casey Kaufhold.
In the Basque squad, Filipe Othegui lost to Mexican Davi Alvarez, 2-0, and will compete for bronze, this Saturday, against Argentine Nicolas Comas.
In women’s water polo, Brazil lost to Canada, 21-4, in the semifinals. The team is trying to win bronze, this Saturday, against Argentina, defeated by the United States 27-1.
