The University of Fortaleza, from the Edson Queiroz Foundation, was highlighted in the Brazilian University Games (JUBs) 2023, which took place in Joinville/SC, from October 8th to 21st. On that occasion, Unifor was champion in three categories and “climbed” to the podium ten more times.

This year, the competition included the following modalities: Women’s Basketball, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Futsal, Judo, Karate, Field Tennis, Table Tennis, Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Volleyball and Wrestling. For the disputes, the University delegation included 85 participantsincluding athletes, coaches and managers.

The event, organized by the Brazilian Confederation of University Sports (CBDU), brings student athletes from all over Brazil with the aim of encouraging and mobilizing them through sports practice.

It is worth highlighting that, still in 2023, Unifor obtained relevant results in the Praia JUBs, which were held from April 23 to 29 in São Luís/MA. In the competition, the University competed in seven modalities and came in 1st place in six categories: Beach Wrestling – Women +70kg; Cross Training – Women’s, Men’s and Mixed Doubles; Beach Volleyball – Women’s Doubles; 4×4 Mixed Volleyball.
