Flamengo met in recent weeks with representatives of Nicolás De La Cruz and maintains constant conversations for the player
Flamengo has been trying to sign Nicolás De La Cruz, from River Plate (ARG), since the last window. However, Rubro-Negro has not yet managed to reach an agreement for the Uruguayan midfielder. Therefore, the board of Clube da Gávea maintains constant conversations with the player’s representatives and, in addition, received the ‘yes’ from the Uruguayan midfielder.
In recent weeks, Flamengo met with De La Cruz’s staff to try to sign the player. In conversations, the representatives of the Uruguayan midfielder stated their desire for the athlete to transfer to Rubro-Negro, however, River Plate continues to be the ‘stone in Mais Querido’s shoe’.
RIVER PLATE HARD GAME
Although Nicolás De La Cruz has already given the ‘yes’ to the red and black board, the Uruguayan’s transfer to Mengo still remains blocked. This is because River Plate does not want to give up on the player. Therefore, to be able to bring the athlete to Flamengo at the start of the 2024 season, Mais Querido will have to pay a fine of 16 million dollars (around R$80 million).
Even with River Plate’s irreducible position, Flamengo remains confident in signing De La Cruz. In this way, Mais Querido will continue to be patient in negotiations, to try to start the 2024 season with the Argentinean being part of Mengo’s squad. It is worth mentioning that Liverpool (URU) equally divides the player’s economic rights. However, the Argentine club is in charge of the ‘operation’.

While the Flamengo board moves to hire reinforcements for the next season, the red-black squad is preparing for the last commitments of 2023. The first of them, in fact, takes place on Sunday (05), when Rubro-Negro faces Fortaleza , for the 32nd round of the Brazilian Championship.
