The Brusque men’s handball team performed twice this Thursday (2), in the regional phase of the Santa Catarina Open Games (JASC). The debut game, marked by great expectations, took place against Blumenau, at 2:15 pm, at Arena Brusque, the venue for the sport.
The match, fierce from start to finish, ended with a score of 27 to 23 for the home team. The highlight of the Brusquense team was Rayson, who scored eight goals for Brusque. Matheus scored six goals, followed by Guilherme (five), Pietro (four), Marlon (2), Álvaro and Marco Antônio, both with one goal each.
At 8:15 pm, the Brusquense team returned to the court, this time to measure up against Joinville. Despite being an equally close game, Brusque ended up getting the worst of it, losing the match by a score of 30 to 24.
Brusque’s goals were scored by Mateus (eight times), Lucca (six times), Marlon, Lucas Neto, Guilherme and Gabriel (two goals each); Pietro and Fernando scored a goal each.
“The situation is still very uncertain, as it is only the first day of the competition”, highlights goalkeeper Enriko. “Everything is messed up, because most of the teams have one victory, except Blumenau who played just one game and lost to us”, he concludes.
Brusque returns to play this Friday (3), at 8:15 pm, against Jaraguá do Sul, at Arena Brusque. Entry is free.
