UFC: Durinho says when he plans to fight again, reveals his dream opponent and considers moving up in weight

Gilbert Durinho is still recovering from surgery on his left shoulder after suffering an injury during the fight against Belal Muhammad in May this year.

In an interview with ESPNthe Brazilian spoke about his recovery and said when he intends to return to the UFC Octagon, in addition to even talking about which opponent he hopes to meet.

“I’m already 90%, I’m back to training. It’s a matter of another 4-6 weeks to be 100% and then I’ll be thinking about the fight. The objective now is to gain confidence in training. I think the real fight would be in February, March, to be there training. It’s an annoying injury and so am I, if I leave training all year long”, said Durinho.

“That’s the way I see it, the way I hope. Let’s wait for this fight to happen. There’s a lot going on. After this event, someone will already be coming out to fight, I think Leon (Edwards) wins. If I could choose, I he would fight with Colby (Covington). Not becoming champion, sometimes he wants to take a break. Let’s see what will happen”, he added.

The Brazilian even revealed that he intends to move up in weight, inspired by the fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Kamaru Usman at UFC 294.

“I’m still thinking about fighting at welterweight, I can weigh 77kg very easily, but it opened up a path of opportunity there, if it appears, I could see that… of course, the two are taller, but doing a job well done , it’s something that became possible. I looked there and said ‘hmm, yes it can’. I don’t have those plans now, but well-paid things at a good price are worth thinking about. If Poatan had one, I wouldn’t go up.
