Bettina athlete Ryan Gandra’s dream of joining the UFC and becoming a professional fighter may be about to come true. This Friday (3), at 10pm, he faces Alessandro Gambulino at LFA 171, at Ginásio do Polvilho, in Cajamar (SP). The victory could land the 28-year-old fighter in the martial arts organization he aspires to.
A resident of the Granja Verde neighborhood, Gandra is an electrical mechanic and has stood out in the sport: he has accumulated titles in judo and jiu-jitsu. In professional MMA, he is undefeated, with five wins.
He explains that the athletes who win this competition can guarantee a contract signed with the UFC and, later, for the Contender Series (a program that gives opportunities to new talents in the rising industry).
Ryan is already in concentration in Cajamar and went through the weigh-in process this Wednesday. He reports that, despite the challenges, he is confident in the positive outcome.
“I managed to lose 10 kg in a week and that was my first victory. It was an exhausting process, but I managed it with excellence. Now, it’s time to enter the fight very calmly and do what I’ve been training for all this time,” he says.
