After the big turnaround for the Brasileirão against the leader Botafogo by 4 to 3 on Wednesday (01), in Rio de Janeiro, the coach’s Palmeiras neighbors in his condominium in São Paulo decided to leave messages on paper for the coach.
Surprised by the attitude, the technician took photos of the ‘gift’ and published it on his Instagram story: “I have the best neighbors in the world”, wrote Abel about the surprise.
Among the messages, one was written: “4×3! I love you”, a second said “Abel, you are amazing”, and “Abel, you are the best” was in a third.
Palmeiras’ victory over Botafogo put the São Paulo club once and for all in the direct fight for the Brasileirão title by closing the gap on the leader by three points — while Botafogo still has one game less to be played against Fortaleza.
After the game, Weverton, the Alviverde goalkeeper who was one of the highlights of the game when he saved the penalty taken by Tiquinho Soares, praised and reinforced the coach’s fundamental role in the turnaround, another chapter that increases Abel’s idolatry with the Palmeiras fans — and with the neighbors.
