Felipe Drugovich will continue as Aston Martin reserve

What was expected, happened. In the absence of a place as a starting driver in Formula 1 for 2024, Felipe Drugovigh chose to continue as a reserve for Aston Martin. If it wasn’t the Brazilian’s dream project for next year, it is certainly the option that brings him closer to the ideal of entering the category once and for all.
The announcement of the renewal of the Brazilian’s contract for another year was made in Interlagos, on the eve of the São Paulo GP. Drugovich, who has already given a press conference after confirming the extension of the contract, will continue conducting team tests in a simulator and, in the few opportunities that regulations allow, on the track.
Drugovich joined Aston Martin at the end of 2022, shortly after becoming Formula 2 champion. His first activity with the team was in pre-season testing, when he replaced the injured Lance Stroll. Drugovich also rode the AMR23 in free practice in Monza, Italy, and will do so again in the last round of the year, in Abu Dhabi – where he took part in last year’s rookie tests.
Felipe arrived at the team with the support of Brazilian sponsors, such as XP, Porto and Banco Master, who will remain on the team as long as the contract is in force. Despite the contribution, it has not yet been possible to find a starting position.
