Gerson and Bruno Henrique were sent off by referee Rafael Klein
In addition to the defeat to Santos last Wednesday (01), Flamengo fans had more to regret. This is because, during the confrontation, referee Rafael Rodrigo Klein expelled Gerson and Bruno Henrique. Thus, in the summary, the match judge justified the reason for the red card for the red and black players.
After the game, Rafael Klein explained the expulsions of Gerson and Bruno Henrique. In the referee’s view, the Flamengo midfielder received a red card for “strike the opponent with the elbow in the face, with the use of excessive force, when fighting for the ball.” On that occasion, Fla’s number 20 shared the play with Julio Furch, Santos’ striker.
Bruno Henrique’s expulsion was due to the attacker having offended the match referee. In justification, Rafael Klein said that the athlete said the following sentence: “You’re a piece of sh*t.” Furthermore, the judge reported that the number 27 placed his finger in his face after a foul was called.
GERSON AND BRUNO HENRIQUE EXPULSED
Flamengo’s first expulsion was that of Gerson. After ‘colliding’ with Julio Furch, his elbow bumped into the Santos striker’s face. As a result, the match referee was called by VAR and, after checking the images, decided to give red to the red-black midfielder.
At the end of the second half, when the score was already 2-1 for Santos, Bruno Henrique was warned with a yellow card. However, after questioning the referee, the number 27 ended up being sent off by Rafael Klein.
FLAMENGO IN BRAZILÃO
With the expulsion of Gerson and Bruno Henrique, Flamengo lost to Santos and, as a result, accumulated their second consecutive defeat in the Brasileirão. In this way, Mengo dropped one position in the table and is now sixth in the table, with 50 points. With the setback, Fla was unable to close the gap on leader Botafogo, which remains in nine.
NEXT GAME IN BRASILEIRÃO
Without much time to regret, Flamengo’s squad reappears this Thursday afternoon (02) with full focus on the game against Fortaleza, in the 32nd round of the Brasileirão. The clash takes place on Sunday (05), at 4pm (Brasília time), at Arena Castelão.
Coluna do Fla, as usual, brings the most red-black broadcast on the internet, with the ‘angry’ voice of Rafa Penido, comments from Tulio Rodrigues and Leo José in the reports. However, Rede Globo (open channel) and Premiere (pay-per-view) also show the confrontation.
