One of the most anticipated events of the year by Formula 1 fans is about to begin in Brazil with the strength of Gulf at Williams. On the 3rd, 4th and 5th of November, the country will host the São Paulo Grand Prix in Interlagos, which will feature a box sponsored by Gulf in partnership with Fit Combustíveis. The circuit, one of the most traditional in the sports category, reaches its 51st national race, accelerating the economy while thrilling Brazilians with the competition for speed.

To get an idea of the grandeur of the GP in the country, just look at the numbers collected by Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) last year. According to the research, there was an impact of R$1.37 billion and the generation of 15 thousand temporary jobs in the capital of São Paulo, attracting tourists and filling hotels. The estimated audience at the circuit is more than 235 thousand people.

National passion

Brazilians’ passion for Formula 1 is old and coming, starting even before the creation of the category, in 1951. With the inauguration of the tracks, 30 drivers have already represented Brazil and among them are great idols of the sport, such as Nelson Piquet, Emerson Fittipaldi and Ayrton Senna.

Gulf and Williams

A giant in the oil industry, Gulf signed a partnership with the legendary Williams Racing team at the beginning of 2023. In addition to the objective of generating more records and achievements in competitions, the sponsorship guarantees the company the possibility of stamping the pride of the Gulf brand on the drivers’ overalls and mechanics, in the team’s pits and in the FW45 cars, which will be used by Williams in the São Paulo GP.

Gulf has been present in Formula 1 since 1936, achieving recognition and prominence. The company won important competitions in different motorsport categories, such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Ford GT40. The company has already partnered with MCLaren and sponsored the Brabham and Tyrrell Racing teams.

Voting marks new phase

To mark Gulf’s new phase in Formula 1, an open public vote was launched to choose the colors of the car used on the tracks by racing lovers.

With 51.9% of the votes, the design called “Bolder Than Bold” was the most voted in the contest which, in the end, counted around 180 thousand votes.

The stylized cars were in 3 F1 2023 races, the Singapore Grand Prix, Suzuka Grand Prix and Qatar Grand Prix.

This collaboration underscores Gulf’s excellence in motorsport and solidifies its commitment to supporting high-performance teams in their pursuit of glory.

Fit and Gulf partnership at gas stations

A phenomenon of quality and excellence in fuels, Gulf will also operate in the Brazilian gas station market in partnership with Fit, the main distributor at Bandeira Branca gas stations in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

With investments of more than R$700 million, more than 200 gas stations will be opened by the end of 2024. The forecast is to generate more than R$20 billion in the local market, with a goal of national leadership by 2030 and a higher quality offering and customer trust.
