Brazil beat Chile on Wednesday night (1), in the final round of the Handball group stage at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. It was a defined match at the end, and gave the Brazilian team 31 to 28. They will face the United States in the semifinals.
THE GAME
The first half started with Brazil moving more on the court. They opened a good lead against the Chileans, 10 to 4. But after 20 minutes, Chile started to get closer and reduced the difference. Despite this, 12 to 9 for the Brazilian team. There were three attacks in a row from the home team. But Brazil managed to win the first stage by 15×12.
In the second half, Brazil started scoring with João and expanding with Matheus, in addition to Ferrugem defending the Brazilian goal, making a save, preventing the Chileans from scoring. Gustavo grew a lot in the match and helped the Seleção to stay ahead, even if with little difference. At 22 minutes of the final stage, 29 to 25 for Brazil. In the end, Chile arrived, but Brazil won 31 to 28.
