STJD does not accept Vasco’s appeal, and Barbieri will have to comply with suspension against Fortaleza | Basque

In addition to Pedro Raul, Vasco will have another absence for the game against Fortaleza, next Saturday, at 4 pm, away from home. After getting a suspensive effect against Santos, the club had no appeal accepted by the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD), which punished coach Maurício Barbieri with two games of suspension – he was expelled in his debut, against Atlético-MG.

Vasco has not won for six games and is in the relegation zone of the Brasileirão

The coach fulfilled the automatic suspension in the following round, against Palmeiras, and was later judged and sentenced to play another match away, which would be against Santos. Vasco disagreed, appealed and got a suspensive effect on the occasion.

Barbieri was expelled in the 36th minute of the first half of the game held at Mineirão. Referee Raphael Claus reported the following on the scoresheet:

“Direct expulsion, after I received information from the fourth referee that he would have cursed with the following words: ‘go fuck yourself, go f*ck, repeating this speech twice and punching the air. At the end of the match, he came to the referee’s locker room to apologize for what happened”.

He was framed in article 258 of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice: “Assuming any conduct contrary to discipline or sports ethics not typified by the other rules of this Code”.
