Responsible for the difficult mission of trying to dethrone Amanda Nunes from the rank of bantamweight queen (up to 61.2 kg), Mexican Irene Aldana will have its advantages and motivations when stepping into the Octagon at UFC 289. In an ‘ESPN’ statement, the former middleweight champion (up to 83.9kg) rashad evans said that the challenger will arrive for the confrontation excited by the good moment experienced by Mexico in MMA and showed confidence that she will be able to win the belt against the ‘Leoa’.
“I have to go with (Irene) Aldana. Mexico is on the rise, but Aldana, she is a huge force. She looks so big in there and she has a hook that… my God. Absolutely she can get (Amanda). “The (Mexican) energy is on another level, so you kind of start to level up along with everyone around you. And I feel like that’s where Aldana will be,” Evans said.
Number five in the bantamweight ranking, Aldana will have the biggest mission of her life on June 10th, to dethrone the greatest athlete in the history of female MMA, Amanda Nunes. The two fighters will make the main event of the UFC 289 which will be held in Vancouver, Canada.
