The Sorocabana Basketball League (LSB) presented the first reinforcement for the 2023 season, which begins in March, with the 2023 Brazilian Adult Men’s Championship, organized by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB). It is the shipowner Beto Fagundes, 22 years old, who had been playing for São Paulo. Previously, LSB had already announced the contract renewals with Adler Ribeiro (guard), Aquiles (back) and Lucas “Fumaça” Marciel (wing/guard).
“I would like to thank Rinaldo Rodrigues and Beto Jayme for their confidence in joining the team this season. It will be a year of great expectations and achievements; therefore, I want to be adding and helping the team in the best possible way”, reported Beto, 1m88 and 82kg.
The athlete began his career at Paulistano, playing at the base and transitioning to an adult. Afterwards, he went through Corinthians and São Paulo. In addition, he was U-22 South American champion with the Brazilian national team. “This is a point guard who will make a beautiful partnership with Adler Ribeiro, bringing more youth to the Sorocabana Basketball League. I work a lot with coach Beto Jayme at the base. It is a great hope for the renewal of our team for this season. He likes to work, he is a partner and has been adding a lot to the group”, says manager Rinaldo Rodrigues.
Last weekend, coach Beto Jayme was introduced to the LSB players. The squad is already working, aiming to dispute the Brazilian Championship, which gives the champion a place in the next edition of the South American League. “I’m sure that Beto Jayme will adapt quickly to the team, the city and the Liga Sorocabana in general. He is a qualified coach, winner and who likes to work, so he will add a lot to our team during the 2023 season”, added Rinaldo. (From the Editor)
