This Tuesday afternoon (24), right-back Rafinha, formerly of Flamengo and currently at São Paulo, participated in the Flow Sport Club program. Therefore, as the presenters are fans of the rubro-negro, the athlete commented on his departure from Gávea to Olympiacos in 2020 and the reason for not returning to Ninho do Urubu in 2021.
”Football is very dynamic. We create affection and love for the club but we have to think about our career, because it is very short (…) It was a great opportunity for me, aged 34, to go to Greece and earn that money”, summarized Rafinha.

Then, the winger nailed that he wanted to return to Fla and he just didn’t return for a political reason at the club. That way, he got it right with Grêmio.
“I have greater affection for Flamengo and for the friends I made in Rio de Janeiro (…) It almost worked to return to Flamengo, but it didn’t. It was a political issue. This I already took from my heart. I am so grateful for what they did for me,” he said.
“As I left in a way that they didn’t want, when I came back Marcos Braz and Bruno Spindel made me an offer and I made a counter proposal. They took it to the board and I’m sure what happened, even if I don’t speak directly. The guys said: ‘No, not now either’. Not even with the proposal they made did they continue. They kind of returned it in kind. I knew half wanted it. The guys said that he (manager) didn’t want to because of that and he’s in the system”, he said, without mentioning which top hat he would be.
Finally, the winger denied any kind of problem with the club and said that he feels affection for a large part of Flamengo’s management.
”But it is already overcome. I speak with Braz, Spindel, I have the greatest affection for the president and for all the employees … he has no regrets. Zero! I was happy as hell there,” he concluded.
