The weekend promises to be on fire, after all, Flamengo has big games on Saturday (03) and Sunday (04). In football, men’s and women’s, classics against Vasco and Fluminense, respectively. Furthermore, among the Fla girls, the clash marks the debut of striker Cristiane. In basketball, the ‘Pride of the Nation’ makes the final of the Super 8 Cup.

This Saturday (03), starting at 10 am (Brasília time), Flamengo debuts in the Copa Rio, against Fluminense. However, the Nation’s eyes will be focused on Cristiane, Mengão’s new reinforcement. The top scorer, with a remarkable experience with the Brazilian team, takes to the field at the Luso-Brasileiro Stadium.

I’m looking forward to playing this match against Fluminense, I think it’s a very big and historic classic here in Rio. I’m used to always playing in the Campeonato Paulista and now I’m going to have this rivalry here. We have to start off on the right foot, let’s put into practice what Bari (Mauricio Salgado, coach) has been telling us these (last) days — said Cristiane.

Later, at Maracanãzinho, Flamengo plays in the Super 8 Basketball Cup final. Rubro-Negro counts on the support of the fans to overcome Unifacisa. The team from Paraíba is the big underdog of the competition, after all, they eliminated Franca and Minas. The ball goes up from 5:10 pm (Brasília time) on Saturday (03).

The entire team is very focused on what needs to be done. One more (game) to go. Saturday is the most important day of our lives and we will have the same energy, the same determination (as in the semi-final) to, God willing, be champion — commented Gui Deodato, who scored 34 points against Paulistano, in the semifinal.

To close the weekend of emotions for red and black fans, Flamengo faces Vasco, in the sixth round of the Carioca football championship. The confrontation is worth the chance to enter the G-4 of the competition. The ball starts at 7pm (Brasília time), and the duel will mark Mengão’s debut at Maracanã in 2024.

The demands of a big club don’t give you peace of mind, there is always a huge need for results. Pleasure, satisfaction, but a great need to perform with results. Last year we got caught up in the turmoil, but we already have an established relationship of trust — highlighted Tite, on Wednesday (31), after the victory over Sampaio Corrêa.

Cristiane’s debut for Fla women’s football will be broadcast on FlaTV, via YouTube. Basketball will air on the subscription channel SporTV. Finally, the classic with Vasco features the best and most red-and-black of the teams, Coluna do Fla, on YouTube. Furthermore, SBT (open network) and SporTV show the clash.
