Xiaomi launched this Wednesday night (31) the Redmi Note 13 line

in Brazil, bringing three models: Redmi Note 13 4G, Redmi Note 13 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G.

The most complete version of the three is the Pro, with a 200 MP main camera, a more powerful processor and charging that promises to reach 50% in 16 minutes and 100% in 46 minutes.

Between the two basic models, the only differences are the processor (which is, or is not, compatible with 5G), and the design, which has subtle differences.

Currently, most smartphones launched in Brazil already come with compatibility with the new generation of internet. Xiaomi, however, states that there are still those looking for 4G models in the country.

“Through studies that evaluate the consumer profile, we saw that there is still a gigantic 4G market, especially in the entry-level models in the series. 5G is still not a reality for many people in the country, so whoever wants to change their cell phone and think in the short term, you don’t want 5G”, says Thiago Araripe, marketing manager at Xiaomi Brasil, in an interview with the iG portal. “Because, in this case, the difference between the devices is basically just the processor. The camera is the same, there are no other benefits”, he adds.

Globally, Xiaomi launched a version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro with 4G, but this option will not reach Brazil. According to Thiago, the model “doesn’t catch on” in the country.

“Here, those who are willing to have a more expensive smartphone, in the Pro version, want 5G, even if they don’t use it. In Brazil, 4G is still a very large market for those who prefer a more entry-level smartphone”, he analyzes.

Upcoming Xiaomi launches in Brazil

Worldwide, the Redmi Note line is Xiaomi’s best-selling line, targeting users looking for intermediate models. Globally, the brand has already launched its new flagship
with the Xiaomi 14 line.

The models, however, have not yet officially arrived in Brazil. To iG, Thiago states that the possible arrival of a model from the Xiaomi 14 line in the country “is still being studied”, and that “there is still no date, nothing confirmed”.

“Of course we will have news throughout the year. But I can tell you that the Redmi Note 13 series is Xiaomi’s main launch in Brazil this year”, says the brand manager.
