A man was shot dead at a gas station on Estrada do Mato Alto, in Campo Grande, West Zone of Rio, late this Friday morning (3).
The man was identified as Lindomar Riva, 53 years old. Witnesses say he got involved in a fight with another man in the establishment over the teddy bear catching machine.
The argument would have started because the suspect would have tried to get toys from the machine and was unable to do so. While Lindomar had already caught several different animals.
A man who was at the gas station told g1 that the shooter took the gun from a car, went inside the convenience store and left. The witness reports that Lindomar followed with a can of beer in his hand. At that time, he was shot first.
Employees and customers were in despair, according to the report. More shots were fired at the victim, who died at the scene.
Police officers from the 40th BPM (Campo Grande) isolated the area for examination by the Capital Homicide Police Station, which is investigating the case.
The family said that Lindomar struggled with depression and heart problems. According to family members, His fun was going to the convenience store to capture the stuffed animals in the machine.
In his car, the police found several teddy bears.
