One month after hip surgery, Lula appears kicking balls and doing treadmills in rehabilitation
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) released this Friday (3) a video in which he appears kicking a ball, working out and doing other rehabilitation exercises (look above).
On September 29th, Lula underwent arthroplasty to place a prosthesis in the socket between his right femur and his hip. The procedure was performed to treat osteoarthritis in the region.
“Today marks five weeks since my surgery. I’ve already gone back to physiotherapy and started doing some gymnastics again,” Lula said in the video.
The president reported that he has been walking on the treadmill for 15 minutes, stretching and doing muscle strengthening exercises in his calves, legs and arms.
“A demonstration that when it is eight weeks since I had the surgery, I will be intact, perfect to play ball again, to run again, to run again, to travel around Brazil again,” said Lula in the video.
