The event was punctual and at the beginning of the night Nando Reis took to the main stage, with a setlist that mixed songs from his solo career with Titãs’ classics. Humberto Gessinger gave a performance interspersed with classics from his period as Engenheiros do Hawaii and some songs from solo projects. At the end of the presentation he asked the public for support for his condition, which since April 29 has suffered from severe flooding.

The rapport between the frontmen, many of them veterans, and the fans was great. On stage, Humberto Gessinger performed Refrão de Bolero, Infinita Highway and Armas Químicas e Poems with the same explosiveness. He thought little and still jumped while performing a bass solo. Over there, the audience responded in tune, excited and didn’t stop jumping. The pride of seeing good old rock with a night to itself motivated the chorus “rock lives!”, which never left the crowd’s lips.

Looking to one side, there were couples who, at the beginning of their relationship, danced to the sound of “Primeiros Erros”, by Capital Inicial, “Tédio”, by Biquíni, and that night they were at the event, married and some were already grandparents. The power of crossing time, which these songs possess, created an aura of affective memory present in every corner of the party.

Bruno Gouveia starts the show presenting the project Vou te take me, which features Péricles, singing Janaína/Cotidiano. The hits “Zé Nobody” and “Tédio” raised the temperature, even under the torrential rain and a tuned choir accompanied. At the end of the show, guitarist Carlos Coelho led a game that further triggered the audience’s already heightened nostalgia. He performed a sequence of solos from “Smoke on the Water”, by Deep Purple, “Highway to Hell”, by ACDC and other international rock classics, which was enough for the audience not to want the band to leave the stage.

Nação Zumbi took the stage in the early hours of the morning. The band, which projected Recife’s manguebeat throughout Brazil, was closely followed by the public who sang along to Jorge Du Peixe’s vocals in hits such as Maracatu Atomic, Quando a Tide Fill and even the challenging Banditismo por a question of class. The band announced the start of the 30th anniversary tour of the album Da Lama ao Caos, which starts at the Turá festival, in Porto Alegre, and should pass through Recife.

The youngest band to take the stage Charlie Brown Jr took the stage as the day dawned. Even after the intense marathon of shows, people from São Paulo found a lively and thirsty audience for Te Levar aqui, one of the first songs to be played, “Zóio de Lula” and “Dias de struggle, dias de gloria”. It is worth noting that Egypcio, ex-Tihuana, who takes Chorão’s place, maintains vibrant energy in the mix of hardcore punk, reggae, rap, funk rock, alternative rock and skate punk
