Tycoon counters and defends Leo Santana’s opinion on criticism of the Bahian pagode.
During an interview with the Podpah poscast, Leo Santana stated that he is saddened by the fact that the pagode in Salvador, “the prohibition”, is very heavy. Bruno Magnata revealed to the Bnews who, in a way, is also uncomfortable, but “likes whoever wants to”. The La Fúria singer also confessed that he misses the union of artists in this category.
“Here’s the prohibition thing and I’m sad because it’s my sound, and today I’m one of the great representatives of the pagode in Bahia. So when I see it, it bothers me, it’s heavy”, Leo commented in an interview, who then mentioned the double meaning.
“The light pagode is difficult to get in the communities, I am blessed, Harmonia, Psirico, É O Tchan. And even if you stop to observe the lyrics of É O Tchan, the double meanings, it passes by, but the prohibition is straight to the point. I’m like ‘puts man, it’s heavy, I can’t, hold on, at least cool’”, he said and added that he understands. “But at the same time, it’s the kids who want to put bread at home. And in a way, the sound he makes is being requested in the communities.”
When asked if he agrees with Leo’s position, Tycoon went straight. “I have that thing, right, whoever likes it. The music is there, we have all kinds of music in Brazil, in the world, we enjoy what we want. The funk itself, there are several funks that I see the TikTok people do all over Brazil and they don’t criticize the way they criticize the pagode”, he shot.
Bruno also stated that he thinks the same way as the former singer of Parangolé. “There are certain types of music that sometimes don’t work. A Lá Fúria always made a double meaning like that, but there are certain types of songs that really can’t be done. Everyone needs to work, if the singer thinks that’s the way, do it. Lá Fúria came from this wave of the wall, in the sense of the thing, we know that the periphery, the favela likes it, the people who enjoy the wall like it”, he explained.
Also during an interview with the Bnews team, Tycoon revealed that pagode artists should be more united. “Pagode is more united now, there used to be a lot of rivalry. And today, in fact, the new generation that is coming, people are more united, you see more, they are more united, thinking about making a feat. Pagode is the only hit that there are few feats, like Lá Fúria and Polêmico, Lá Fúria and Parangolé, I think there is more to it, recording with each other”, he concluded.
