O Armas e Rosas announced a commemorative box set for the albums Use Your Illusion 1 and 2 (both from 1991) which will feature 97 tracks, including 63 previously unreleased recordings, according to billboard. The project will be released in several physical formats and will be available on digital platforms on November 11.
The new publication will feature remastered versions of the two albums for the first time made from the original recordings, stored in analog format. The project also brings together presentations from band held in New York (in 1991) and in Las Vegas, in 1992. One of the great attractions of the box will be the version of November Rain with a 50-instrument orchestra, which was recorded, conducted and arranged in 2021 by the composer Christopher Lennertz.
The most expensive edition of the box is called Guns N’ Roses — Use Your Illusion I & II Super Deluxeswhich features the vinyl of the albums and live performances, as well as a Blu-ray of the New York concert, which was recorded on 35mm film and turned into 4K.
The box also contains a 100-page book with never-before-seen photos and archival documents, replicas of fan club papers and concert tickets. It is being sold at U$ 499.98 (about R$ 2,584.00 at the current price), through the official site of the band.
the disks Use Your Illusion were released simultaneously in September 1991 and marked the band’s third and fourth studio projects. The albums featured great Guns N’ Roses hits to date, from metal ballads such as November Raineven heavier rocks such as You Could Be Mine. The band also gathered the praised covers of Live and Let Dieby Paul McCartney & Wings, and Knockin’ on Heaven’s Doorby Bob Dylan.
The Guns N’ Roses announcement comes as the band makes a tour on brazilian soil. In addition to appearing at Rock in Rio 2022, they have already passed through Manaus, Recife, Goiânia, Belo Horizonte, Ribeirão Preto and Florianópolis. The band still goes to Curitiba (21/09), São Paulo (24/09) and Porto Alegre (26/09), before traveling through the rest of South America.
