The British singer, author of the celebrated album that gives the biopic its title, died prematurely in 2011, after a life marked by excesses and media persecution.

The feature film follows the young artist since her adolescence, when Amy Winehouse was already demonstrating her vocal talent to her family. At the age of 18, she was already performing in England and, over time, she began to gain fame. The success of the album Back to Black made her a worldwide celebrity, but it also caused her problems with alcohol and drugs to increase exponentially.

The documentary brings together extensive archival footage, including personal home videos, as well as looks at the journey Amy took to break into the music industry and become a Grammy-winning superstar in 2008.
