WE’VE ALREADY SEEN IT and we can say that Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a REVENGE and ACTION film that is worthy of George Miller’s series. An action show, yes, but one that embraces more mythology, history and the protagonist’s journey.

The amazing action is there, the unique art direction that the series has, but above all a plot and a cast that meet expectations and show how Mad Max has entered the hall of great franchises in modern cinema.”

The new film is set 45 years after the collapse that ended the world and 15 years before Mad Max: Fury Road. The story was designed by George Miller even before the original, and the success of the 2015 film allowed the development of the derivative.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will tell the origin of the character played by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road, now played by Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit). Hemsworth (Thor) plays Dementus, a gang leader who arrives in the desert to challenge Immortan Joe. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman 2: The Lost Kingdom) and Tom Burke (Mank) complete the cast.

Director George Miller talks about his desire to make the prequel since Furiosa took off as the highlight of Fury Road, which had Tom Hardy like Max and Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe in what is considered one of the best films of the century, as well as a box office success (US$380 million grossed worldwide) and an Oscar success (5 statuettes).

Max should not be part of the film, which focuses on the past of the Citadel built by Joe and the Many Mothers, who welcomed Furiosa in her youth.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga opens in theaters on May 23 this year.
