The comedy starring John Cena didn’t please the critics, but the public liked it.
Action and comedy are two genres that generally work well on the big screen. The combination seems perfect for enjoying a good movie session, but the story that works for the public does not always work for specialized critics.
That’s what happened with Freelance, John Cena’s new film, which hit US theaters in October and received a very impressive negative rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics: 0%. The public, on the other hand, loved the feature film and gave it a score of 74%.

What is the story of Freelance?
Directed by Pierre Morel, Freelance follows Mason Pettis, a former special forces agent who now spends his days stuck in an office job. Against his will, he accepts a mission: to provide security for journalist Claire Wellington while she interviews dictator Juan Venegas.
In the middle of the meeting, just as Claire is about to get the scoop that could change her career, a coup d’état occurs. Mason, Claire and Juan must escape to the jungle and survive, forming a peculiar team. In addition to Cena, the film stars Alison Brie, Alice Eve and Christian Slater.
With this 0%, Freelance entered the list of the worst films of all time. But, as always, everyone has different tastes, and the best thing to do is watch the film and draw your own conclusions. Did the critics disapprove of it? Okay, that doesn’t mean you won’t necessarily have fun.
There is still no defined release date for Brazilian screens.
