Failure! After a disappointing debut, ‘The Marvels‘ broke yet another negative record for Marvel. The film only grossed US$10.2 million in its second weekend at the North American box office, which represents the biggest drop in the history of the MCU.
The title suffered a drop of -78% compared to the previous weekend. The previous record belonged to the film ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘ (-69%).
Internationally, the film registered slightly better stability, adding US$19.5 million across 52 markets (representing a drop of -67%).
In the USA, the film has already grossed US$65 million. In the international market, they were US$96.3 million – totalizing US$ 161.3 million at the global box office.
It is worth noting that, despite the disappointing return on the big screen, ‘The Marvels‘ has already managed to surpass, in less than two weeks, the box office total of other recent failures of the genre, such as ‘Shazam! Gods Fury‘ ($133.8M) and ‘Blue Beetle‘ ($129.8M).
