Will Smith had a mega success in the mid-90s with the first Bad Boys film, whose sequel was only released eight years later. It’s a horror show, full of headshots, sexist clichés, body bags strewn across the street and a particularly insipid hide-and-seek sequence that pushes all limits of good taste. In the major Hollywood studio system, an action blockbuster like Bad Boys II in this format would be unthinkable to be conceived today. The third film in the franchise, Bad Boys for Life (this time, without Michael Bay) is also available on Netflix.
