Zack Snyder returns for another partnership with the streaming platform.
Netflix will close the year in style. On December 22, the first installment of a brutal science fiction and fantasy saga will debut on the platform: Rebel Moon Part One: The Fire Girl. Directed by none other than Zack Snyder (Batman Vs Superman – Dawn of Justice), the project is one of the company’s highlights for 2023.
In the plot, we follow the journey of Kora, a young woman who crash-landed on a moon at the edge of the universe. The protagonist managed to build a new life in this remote and peaceful colony, but her mysterious past comes back to the surface when the tyrant Balisarius discovers the girl’s whereabouts.
Kora then becomes the only hope of defeating the new leader of the galaxy, needing to recruit warriors willing to rebel.
With a cast full of familiar faces, Sofia Boutella takes on the role of our heroine. In addition to her, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, Fra Fee, Charlie Hunnam and Djimon Hounsou are also present, with Anthony Hopkins completing the all-star team.
If the first chapter of the franchise hits streaming in December this year, the second, titled Rebel Moon: Part 2 – The Scargiver, will air on April 19, 2024, through a plot that promises a mix of Star Wars and The Seven Samurai.
