With the end of the actors’ strike, Superman: Legacy It should be one of the first new films to begin filming in the coming months. According to Deadline, the film directed by james gunn intends to start filming in March 2024.

Gunn will write and direct a story focusing on a younger Clark Kent, shortly after leaving Smallville, and in his early days as a reporter in the city of Metropolis. Parallel to the beginning of his professional career, he also takes his initial steps as Superman. The film, however, is not an origin story, so we won’t see Krypton exploding or the Kents discovering it. David Corenswet lives Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan lives Lois Lane.

Other DC characters will be in the film. Nathan Fillion plays Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabella Merced will be Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi will make Mr. Incredible and Anthony Carrigan is in the role of Metamorph.

Gunn and Safran will produce the film as part of DC Studios. Superman Legacy premieres on July 11, 2025 and will mark the beginning of the new DC Universe of cinema and television.
