The next season of The Witcher is about to hit Netflix. As per previous news, the third year of the narrative inspired by Andrzej Sapkowski’s books will feature Henry Cavill’s farewell as Geralt of Rivia.

At the beginning of the plot, the White Wolf teams up with Yennefer to keep Ciri safe. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich comments on the matter: “The core of The Witcher is about family,” said the producer. “And this is the point where our family finally gets the chance to be together for the first time and really start to imagine a future together. And so I was really excited to finally deliver that promise to the public… to get to this place where there could be some happiness. But it’s The Witcher… so of course it doesn’t last!”

In addition to the issues surrounding the story itself, the departure of the former Superman interpreter will also leave an even more emotional mark on the hearts of fans. “It was time for him to move on in his life,” Hissrich said. “I think we’re all mourning this in our own ways.”

She continues: “I mean, we had the choice for Geralt to leave and end the show. [Mas] this is not something we were willing to do. There’s a lot of stories to tell,” he explains. “If we were to replace Geralt with another Witcher, we’d be moving away from the books entirely, and I don’t think that’s what we wanted either.”

For season 4, Liam Hemsworth will take on the role of the protagonist. According to the executive, everyone is excited about the arrival of the Hunger Games actor. “He has a huge amount of space to fill, but he also has a lot of energy and a lot of emotion to go with it. It’s obviously a new chapter for us. And there are a lot of feelings involved. But at the end of the day, we love what we’re doing. So let’s keep going. .”

The Witcher Season 3 will be split into two parts: Volume 1 debuts on June 29, with the rest of the episodes on July 27.
