Road workers in the Federal District held an assembly this Sunday (4/9) in which they presented claims to the bus companies in the capital. Without reaching an agreement, the category scheduled a new meeting for next Sunday (11/9), with an indication of a strike.
The professionals claim the maintenance of the previous collective agreement and a 15% salary readjustment. “We want to renew the collective agreement that expired on July 30. We have been on the base date since August 1st”, said the financial director of the Road Workers Union, João Osório.
According to him, the bus companies claimed to have no way of increasing costs at the moment, as they are still suffering from the consequences of the pandemic.
“We already have about six rounds of negotiation. We made some progress, but not enough to close a deal,” said Osório. “We have a week to try to make an agreement and we will bet on that”, he added.
O metropolises contacted the Department of Transport and Mobility (Semob) for a position and awaited a response until the publication of this report. The space remains open.
