Brazil will have a duo from Mato Grosso do Sul as a representative in the University Beach Volleyball World Championship. The young Anthony Fernandes and Carlos Eduardo Vidal will compete at Praia da Pajuçara, in Maceió (AL), between September 6th and 10th.

The duo obtained the classification after winning silver at the Brazilian University Games (JUBs) in Praia, in May this year, in Canoa Quebrada (CE). Anthony and Cadu are civil engineering and physical education students, respectively, at a university in Campo Grande.

“We are in a strong preparation, improving more and more the details we need and looking for as much experience as possible until the day of the Worlds. Great expectations, our duo has been improving a lot and I feel that we are in a great phase”, highlights Cadu about the training routine.

In addition to Anthony and Cadu, Brazil will have two more men’s and three women’s teams in the competition: Flash Danilo and Matheus, Adelmo and Mateus Dutra, Karen and Maria Luiza, Kyce and Talita, and Teresa and Thainara.

The University Beach Volleyball World Championship is organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the Brazilian University Sports Confederation (CBDU). The matches will be broadcast live on FISU TV.

Anthony and Cadu are beneficiaries of the Bolsa Atleta program, coordinated by Fundesporte (Fundação de Desporto e Lazer de Mato Grosso do Sul).
