Alexandre Kalil, candidate for the government of Minas Gerais for the PSD, stated that he will go to Brasilia to try to negotiate the debt that the state has with the Union. The former mayor of Belo Horizonte was in Ribeiro das Neves this Saturday morning (09/03) fulfilling his campaign agenda and reported that to carry out the proposals of his government plan, he will need to clean Minas Gerais’ debts.

“We have to go to Brasilia, because we are not going to take the state out of R$158 billion in debts internally. To see what we’re going to do with infrastructure and health. Nobody is going to open a hospital in Minas Gerais with the debt they have”, said Kalil during a press conference.

The candidate also reinforced that he will not adhere to the Tax Recovery Regime to settle the debt, as, according to him, the plan prevents investment in crucial areas of his government plan.

“First, you have to remove this Tax Recovery Scheme plan, go to Brasilia, because it is not possible to have a plan that cannot increase a doctor, cannot increase a professor, cannot hire, cannot expand anything and freezes the Judiciary, the Executive and the Legislature,” he said.

“Metropolitan transport is a disgrace”

Alexandre Kalil also criticized the metropolitan transport that connects Ribeiro das Neves to other cities in the metropolitan region. According to the candidate, the current gesture “hidden itself”.

“Metropolitan transport was left behind, it was not being supervised. So what we have to do is get our hands on public transport and get better. Why what was done? It’s no use hiding, because when I didn’t hide in Belo Horizonte, I got hit a lot. But I’ve learned that a problem the size of public transport, whether caught or not, you have to face it and you have to solve it. So we have to change these buses, because really they are a disgrace,” he said.
