Moacir Sopelsa assumes the government of Santa Catarina

The President of the Legislative Assembly, deputy Moacir Sopelsa (MDB), assumed on the morning of this Saturday, the 3rd, the position of governor of the state. The ceremony was held at the Pedro Ivo Campos Theater, in the Administrative Center, in Florianópolis.

Before the act, at the headquarters of the state legislature, Sopelsa transferred the position of president of Alesc to the 1st vice president, deputy Maurício Eskudlark (PL), which will remain in charge of Parliament while Sopelsa is at the head of the state executive branch. The ceremony for the transfer of the position took place at the Plenary Deputy Osni Régis.

During the ceremony, Eskudlark spoke of the joy in taking over the leadership of the Legislative Assembly and how this crowns his political trajectory, which began in 1989, as a councilor in the municipality of São Miguel do Oeste. According to the parliamentarian, everything was achieved with the help of many people, to whom he expressed his gratitude. “We don’t do politics alone, we work for the state, for the population, it has to be together. And I always say that in politics you have to like people, you have to know how to listen. So, in this work, we can be proud of each person who trusted the mission we assumed”, highlighted Eskudlark.

Regarding Alesc’s work, he stated that he intends to continue the line adopted by Sopelsa, seeking to speed up the voting of projects, reducing expenses, and transforming public resources into benefits and quality of life for the population of Santa Catarina. At the end of his speech, he also expressed support for Sopelsa in the state government. “I admire him, I consider him a brother, and I wish him much success, because his calm and determined conduct represents good for the people of Santa Catarina”, commented Eskudlark.

In response, Sopelsa stated that he leaves Alesc’s presidency in good hands, as he has in Eskudlark a deputy with a great sense of responsibility, focused on work, and that his performance will add a lot of quality to what has already been carried out in the state Parliament.

Sopelsa also thanked the support of the other deputies for their leadership in the State Executive. “This is a commitment, a responsibility, but I will do my best to be able to represent this parliament and all Santa Catarina citizens well. If I hadn’t had the support of the other parliamentarians here, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to have been president of the Assembly or, now, to assume the role of governor of the state”, pointed out Sopelsa.
