The statement is FACT . See why: the GDF data show that on August 26th there were 15,262 children waiting for a place in a public day care center in the Federal District.

According to the Department of Education, the ministry has an agreement with 123 philanthropic, confessional and non-profit entities, 64 of them with service in their own building and 59 Early Childhood Education Centers (CEPIs). The entities are responsible for caring for about 23,000 children throughout the Federal District.

“We don’t have the service there at the end, family health. We don’t have this service at the posts, in the UPAs, there at the end to serve the population.”

NOTHAT . See why: The Family Health Program (PSF) was created in 1994 as a strategy to reorient health care services. In 2011, the Ministry of Health changed the guidelines for organizing the service, which was renamed the Family Health Strategy (ESF).

The Federal District has today 598 teams focused on primary care for the population, according to the Health Department. In 2022, until May, 1,891,364 people were enrolled in the program.

In the 175 Basic Health Units (UBS) of the DF, the teams are formed by a doctor, nurse, nursing technician and community health agents and by oral health teams, composed of a dentist and an oral health technician.

These professionals can work together with the support of the teams of the Expanded Centers for Family Health and Primary Care (Nasf-AB). These centers have professionals from other specialties – speech therapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, nutritionists and social workers – according to the health demands of that territory.
