A technical meeting at Equatorial Alagoas’s headquarters outlined action and dissemination strategies to avoid the occurrence of problems caused by the burning of sugarcane in areas close to the transmission lines of the electricity grid.


The meeting, which takes place every year, always at the beginning of each harvest, was attended by representatives from the Technical and Environmental departments of CHESF, Equatorial, IMA and Sindçu/AL.

Applications were approved at a CEL meeting and published in the Official Gazette (DOU). With these five new companies, the number of companies registered for the OPP reaches 13. The first eight were approved in August.


The country’s regions showed widespread economic growth, with the exception of the Southeast, which registered relative stability. The assessment is from the Central Bank (BC) and is included in the Regional Bulletin, a quarterly publication that presents the conditions of the economy by regions and by some states of the country, published in Brasília.


The stability of the Southeast in the second quarter was due to the decline in financial services and the slowdown in trade expansion. On the other hand, nationally, growth was more widespread than in the first quarter with significant expansions in other regions.
