Teenager is killed by ex-boyfriend with iron bar blows, in Minas

A 14-year-old teenager was killed after being hit with an iron bar to the head in Araçuaí, in the Jequitinhonha Valley region, in Minas Gerais, this Friday (2). The suspect in the crime is the victim’s ex-boyfriend, 24, who assumed responsibility and showed no regret. He even ran away, but said that before that he expected the girl to die.

A witness told the Military Police (PM) that he was talking to the girl when the man arrived on a bicycle with the iron bar in his hands. The suspect before assaulting his ex-girlfriend would have said: “I said I was going to kill you”. After the crime, he fled.

The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was in the Nova Esperança neighborhood and was caring for the teenager when the military arrived. The victim was lying on the street and had bleeding in the head region. Death was confirmed at the scene. Her body was taken to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) in Almenara.

The PMs managed to arrest the suspect after receiving an anonymous tip informing the place where he was. The man was found and claimed responsibility. At no time did he show regret. He said he beat the ex to the dead because she was making a “mock face” while he was talking to a person.

The man said he had a relationship with the teenager, but it ended eight months ago. After hitting the girl, the suspect said he waited for her to die and “roll his eye” before fleeing. The suspect has police records and was taken to the Araçuaí Police Station.
