Inmet puts 92% of MS municipalities on alert for low humidity

Inmet (National Institute of Meteorology) issued a low humidity alert for 73 of the 79 municipalities in Mato Grosso do Sul. For 22 cities in the northern region of the state, the alert is red, which means greater danger for forest fires and health risks, such as dry skin, discomfort in the eyes, mouth and nose.

The alert began in the late morning of this Thursday (1st) and will last until early evening. Humidity should be between 12 and 30%, while the ideal index for the health of the human body varies between 50 and 60%, according to the WHO (World Health Organization).

The Civil Defense recommendations are to drink plenty of fluids, avoid sun exposure in the hottest hours of the day and avoid physical activities.

This weekend, temperatures will drop in the state, with the lowest minimum of 8°C, in Paranhos, on Sunday. Also in the South region, the forecast is for 10°C and maximum 26°C on Sunday in Ponta Porã and the Dourados region. In Campo Grande, the thermometers on the weekend are between 15°C and 22°C.

Meanwhile, there will be no changes in the northern region of Mato Grosso do Sul. On Monday (5), the minimums gradually rise again, staying in the range of 17°C to 30°C. The relative humidity of the air will be between 65% to 95%.
