The candidate for the government of Acre by the MDB, federal deputy Mara Rocha, met with her activists at a breakfast at the Paim bookstore in downtown Rio Branco. Mara highlighted why, together with her party, she decided to be a candidate for the government and compared the development that Rondônia has today, with the negative rates that Acre currently presents.
Alongside his candidate for vice governor, Fernando Zamora and the candidate for the Senate, Márcia Bittar, Mara ranked the state of Rondônia as the largest producer of fish in captivity, one of the largest producers in agriculture and the third largest employer proportionally in Brazil. While he reported that Acre in the 70’s and 80’s was the biggest producer in everything than Rondônia.
“I tell our militancy today what Acre was and what it has become with the governments of the forestry that left our people in misery and many are leaving to have employment opportunities in other states. That’s why I want to be governor, so I don’t see our people leaving, I don’t want to see more children die for lack of medicines and doctors to attend. I don’t want to see our rural producer wanting to produce and not have the support of the State. Because I can’t stand to see my state suffering anymore that I want to be governor, ”said Mara to her militancy.
Mara also said that the pandemic is no excuse for not investing in actions for the improvement and development of the state. “I went to Goiás and Governor Ronaldo Caiado was there working on the paving of state roads in the midst of the Pandemic, and supporting small, medium and large rural producers. As well as the State of Santa Catarina, which currently has 20,000 job openings and that many Acreans are looking for opportunities to improve their lives there, given that they cannot here”, explained Mara.
