Actress repeated the phrase ‘I’m afraid’ to show her concern about the figure of Luiz Inácio da Silva in the 2022 elections

The actress Regina Duarte is apprehensive about the October elections, especially regarding the Presidency of the Republic. Regina Duarte is scared. She is right. Some figures in contention are sinister. That’s why she’s afraid. Very scared. Suddenly, the actress re-emerged on the surrealist stage of the theater called Brasil. She has always been a competent actress, there is no dispute, but with ideas that isolated her in the Brazilian artistic milieu. Regina Duarte resurfaced to repeat that phrase she made famous: “I’m afraid!”. She came back to repeat the phrase in support of the president Jair Bolsonaro, who is trying to be re-elected. Even humiliated by the government, when she was invited to be the special secretary for Culture, Regina Duarte was not hurt. At least that’s what it looks like. So much so that she comes back with her phrase, referring to the PT and the candidate Luiz Inácio da Silva, ex-convict for corruption, released by a coup by the Federal Supreme Court. In first place in the electoral polls, Lula returned as a ghost from another world to scare the actress. In addition to the famous phrase, Regina Duarte carries in her bag a handful of heavy criticisms of the artists, especially those who signed the Letter to Brazilians, from the USP Law School, in defense of the democracy.

In a video posted on social media, the actress expresses her appreciation for President Jair Bolsonaro, saying that he is an example of democracy for the whole world, questioning the artists who signed and read the manifesto of the Faculdade do Largo de São Francisco. In your opinion, interesting people. She asks: “What democracy are these people talking about?” She herself answers: “It is the leftist hole that Argentina has gotten itself into”. She repeats: “I am afraid”. Regina Duarte resurfaced to side with Bolsonaro against Lula. She claims that she hasn’t had this feeling of fear for some time, but now it was inevitable, because, as she says, Brazil is at risk of losing all the stability that was won by the Bolsonaro government.

Regina Duarte notes that several former professional colleagues ignored her presence in a theatrical show not long ago. They even avoided passing close to her. Not even a brief greeting. She was completely ignored. She harshly criticizes the artists who signed and read the “letter”, citing some of them by name, such as Fernnanda Montenegro. Chico Buarque, Anitta, Camila Pitanga, Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Antonio Fagundes and many others. “I’m ashamed of this ‘leave’”, she says indignantly, demonstrating that today all these people are part of her list of enemies, calling those who think like her patriots. Like many in this country, Regina Duarte does not understand how a figure like Lula can be a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic once again after all she has done to the country. Her statements have met with receptivity from the many who still manage to speak out. Faced with the current scenario, Regina Duarte does not hide the feeling of anguish she has when she sees Brazil on the way to an abyss. That’s why she will repeat her sentence again: “I’m afraid”. Isolated by her former colleagues on stage and television, the actress does not hide her apprehension. For her, Lula’s election again means a plunge into hell.
