A thief who stole a car in Cariacica (ES) surprised the victims by returning the vehicle, with an apology and a refilled fuel tank. The crime happened on Sunday (28), when the housewife Rosyneide Almeida got out of the car to open the garage door of her house.
Upon returning to the driver’s door, the woman was approached by one of the suspects, who arrived at the scene in a white car accompanied by at least one partner. The man ran towards the victim and told her to move away, giving only time for Rosyneide to take the two children out of the backseat. The turnaround came after a post by the family on Facebook, asking the thieves to return the car seat that was in the vehicle, essential for the victim’s son, a boy with special needs.
“Crime asks for forgiveness. At the time of tension, it was not possible to see the child’s problem. And the car is being returned (sic). Full tank”, wrote the man on the note placed inside the car, abandoned on a street in Cariacica, still on Sunday.
Cau, 4 years old, has sequelae of encephalitis – an inflammation of the brain – diagnosed when he was just over one year old. At the time of the robbery, he was on his 10-year-old sister Isadora’s lap, but the adapted stroller, which turns into an essential chair for the boy’s mobility, was also in the family’s vehicle.
P run over
At the time of the escape, the suspect even ran one of the car’s wheels over one of Isadora’s feet, but the fact was not mentioned in the apology.
“We don’t believe it’s true, that we’re going to go through this. I was very shaken and totally discredited in the human being. When I got this note, to tell you the truth, I was even happy to know that they can have compassion with pain the other”, said the children’s mother, TV Globo.
“The car seat was essential. We bought it with great difficulty, we managed to get part of it through donation, because it is an adapted stroller, so the cost is very high”, she added.
Despite the post on social media, the suspects did not contact the family to point out the whereabouts of the vehicle and cart. Who found the car by chance was a friend of Rosyneide, who called the housewife warning about the discovery.
She and her husband went to the scene and identified the vehicle, but chose not to touch it until the Military Police arrived. When agents arrived, they found the unusual note.
Although the car was returned, the Civil Police of Espírito Santo continues to investigate the crime. So far, no suspects have been identified or arrested.
