Two men died in an accident on the BA-161, in the stretch of the village of Igaraté, which is in the rural area of Barra, west of Bahia. The deaths occurred on Thursday night (31), after a collision between two motorcycles and a car.
According to the Civil Police, the motorcycles hit a car, which was not identified because the driver left the scene of the accident. Only pieces were found loose on the floor. There are no details on what caused the collision.
The victims were aboard the motorcycles and were identified as Ronaldo Soares Pinheiro, 49, and Sidney Matheus Barboza, 21. The two died instantly from the impact of the crash. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was activated, but the teams already found the two lifeless when they arrived.
According to the police, the lack of lighting may have caused the accident, but the expert report will confirm if this was the reason or if there was another factor. The bodies of the men were sent to the Technical Police Department of Irecê, to be necropsied. There is no information about the burial of the victims.
