Joinville wins title of best city in Brazil

The city also won the Sebrae award with the Joinville for People project, which includes, among other factors, economic development and well-being Joinville was the champion city in the Best Cities in Brazil 2022 ranking, an initiative of the magazine “Isto É” . According to the publication, Joinville was the first place overall and also topped the list of large cities, thus receiving the title of Best City in Brazil.

“This achievement is the result of the commitment and dedication of our committed team of servers, a team that does not measure efforts to offer a city of excellence to the people of Joinville”, highlights Mayor Adriano Silva.

The Best Cities in Brazil ranking is an initiative of Editora Três and Austin Rating. The list considers public data from 5,565 Brazilian municipalities and is divided into four categories: General, Large, Medium and Small. With the first places in the General and Large categories, with 281 points, Joinville was the absolute winner of the ranking. In the article “Joinville, the portrait of a champion city”, the publication highlights several characteristics of the city, such as the focus on people and culture, with emphasis on the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil and the Dance Festival.

Reference in health, innovation and sanitation

Joinvasc, a public stroke treatment program in Joinville, was the champion of the VBHVC (Value-Based Health Care) Prize 2021, being elected the best global program of Value in Health that year. In addition to the main prize, Joinvasc was also the winner in the category open to the community, obtaining more than 55% of the votes received in the popular vote.

The Value-Based Health Care Prize is organized by the Decision Institute, Netherlands. Companhia Águas de Joinville also won the Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure 2021, in the Water, Sewage and Drainage Systems category, with the Hydraulic Simulation project. The only representative of Brazil, the sanitation company from Joinville was the champion of one of the 19 categories of the competition, competing with around 300 projects submitted by 230 organizations from 45 countries. Joinville also ranked third overall in the Connected Smart Cities 2021 Ranking, in the economy axis.

Territorial Marketing and Entrepreneurial Leadership

Joinville is considered a Model in Territorial Marketing and Entrepreneurial Leadership, having won the award promoted by Sebrae. The city won with the “Joinville for People” project, which includes actions such as incentives for entrepreneurs, revitalization of public spaces, laws, promotion of events and articulation of the city’s forces for economic development and well-being. This was the 11th edition of the Prefeito Empreendedor award, in Santa Catarina.
