The dawn of this Thursday (1st) was one of terror and insecurity in the municipality of Canguaretama, approximately 75.7 km from Natal. Ten men invaded the municipality and blew up the local branch of Banco do Brasil, in addition to robbing a brand store in the city. Images of the occurrence were recorded by local residents and show the group’s articulation to carry out the robberies. No one was injured and so far there is no information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspects.
According to the images of the residents, the individuals arrived in the city and surrendered civilians who were walking on the street of Banco do Brasil. Afterwards, they placed dynamite in the Unit and blew it up in order to steal the money. The site, as the recordings show, was partially destroyed.
To avoid any kind of reaction from the Military Police, the bandits fired shots in front of the local PM unit. In addition to the bank branch, the men broke into a designer store and stole the products that were inside the establishment.
After completing the criminal action, the individuals released the hostages and fled the scene. The Military Police searched the area in an attempt to locate the suspects, but so far no one has been found. The case should be investigated by civil police officers from the Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime (DECOR).
